    N'Zoth predicted Shadowlands

    Posted: 19 May 2020 09:49 AM PDT

So while watching a certain baldie's stream I heard him read a viewer talk about N'Zoth's lines in 8.1.5 and "The Circle of Stars", and I got curious and looked up the lines.

Turns out I found something entirely different but so, so much better. One of his lines say: " The veil wanes. His crown will open the way. " https://www.wowhead.com/news=289637/8-1-5-ptr-old-gods-broadcast-text-nzoth-and-xalatath-spoilers

Don't think I gotta explain what that means, but one thing's for sure: N'Zoth knows. And if he knows far enough into the future to see that, then he knew of his "defeat", which can only mean that he's not actually dead, but only pretended to be.

Or at least that's what would make sense, so it seems like Blizzard aren't actually stupid asses that fuck up the writing by killing an Old God like it was nothing, but instead showed that N'Zoth is truly the most cunning Old God, and everything has been going according exactly to his plan so far.

Thoughts? There's also things to talk about the other 8.1.5 lines, because they most probably also mean stuff that's gonna happen in the future, but I don't care to think too much about that right now, just wanted to show that N'Zoth is most likely not dead, and freely roaming around Azeroth.

EDIT: Holy shit, this sure got a lot of attention, and a lot of discussion I did not expect, but that's good, there's a lotta nice shit in here, so let's see if I can address every single one and see which is true and which isn't.

-The void can see multiple futures but don't know which one is true: uhhh... what? I've tried to look this up everywhere and I cannot find anything like it anywhere, but the comment that mentioned it has a lot of likes so... I guess it's true? Either way I dunno if N'Zoth would just be like "uhhhhhh yeah I saw a future where Sylvanas tears the helmet and another one where she makes out with Anduin but I'm just gonna talk about the first one as if it were true because it's what I want", just seems kinda weird to me, personally (Then again that iffy writing is right up Blizz's alley)

-We killed the other Old Gods so why can't we kill this one/No we didn't we only killed avatars of them: This is definitely the one that has people split apart the most, and... both are right? I guess? Seems like we actually did manage to kill C'Thun and Yogg in their fully, actual bodies. But here comes the kicker, these guys are like weird or whatever, so they're not really dead (I mean hell, not even Y'shaarj really died, he still lived on with the Sha and all that), they're just uh, kinda there waiting to be resurrected, or whatever... Yeah this is definitely unclear, just think of them being in a position where they can be brought back if Blizzard needed them to, but keep them as dead if they don't (This is where Yogg's whispers in Legion come in, he sure is dead, but he's still kinda living on through the Saronite and keeps whispering the friendly neighborhood Tuskarr to create a cult to res him, somehow). Either way, the reason why we wouldn't be able to kill N'Zoth is because, as I said, he's the smartest and most cunning of all the Old Gods, so it'd be believable for him to plan out way ahead than his brothers ever could.

...wait, actually, if you think about it, N'Zoth's confrontation is the most epic Old God encounter in WoW. We had to resist his influence by having a cool cloak and also use the whole power of that stupid necklace we were building up the whoooooole expansion with the power of Azeroth herself to be able to kill him, instead of just killing him like the others.

-WAIT, BUT "KILLING" AN OLD GOD WOULD KILL AZEROTH! This isn't true at all, we're getting confused here. What happened with Y'Shaarj is that the titans just fucking ripped him out with no concern of anything, which caused Azeroth to almost be destroyed since they had to pull Y'Shaarj from the roots that were implanted deep within the planet. Us just killing them by beating them up while still being in Azeroth is an entirely different thing. So it's not about killing an Old God, but more like using a scalp instead of a chainsaw to remove them, as someone else in the comments put it.

-Just because he was able to see the future it doesn't mean he was able to prevent it: Uh... yeah? It also doesn't mean that he can't prevent it, like, it's entirely up to Blizz whether they want him to fake his death or not, and I think not even they are stupid enough to let an opportunity like that pass.

-Don't get too hopeful, remember this is Blizzard we're talking about: Oh trust me, I never forgot about that. This post was only made to point out the possibility that Blizz can easily just say he didn't die, and it would actually make sense unlike "uh yeah when Sylvanas killed herself she got in contact with this powerful deity so now she's had the power to zip zap anyone like they're nothing even though she still got beaten up by Genn but forget about that"

-Wrathion set us all up, he's been conspiring with N'Zoth all along: I would actually fucking hate that. Imagine all that talk about him not being like his father and bringing honor to his Dragon Flight once again, only for him to just be Deathwing Jr. and end up as a raid boss again, it'd be so unsatisfactory.

-Blizzard was actually planning BfA to go for way longer, especially in the fight against N'Zoth: Maybe that was the very reason they made him say that line that all this discourse sparked from, they weren't done with him, so they just have him predict the future and fake his death so they can bring him again at a later expansion when they have the time and money and subs for it.

-Talk about the other 8.1.5 lines as well! Man, this post is already damn long enough as it is, ESPECIALLY after this edit, if people really wanna discuss it I can make a separate post, since I am interested in speculating about those as well, but I sure wouldn't like to do it here, this shit's pretty packed as it is dude.
