Can't believe I never realized this, but the Wolf Spirit's name depends on which faction you're playing, as the Alliance and Horde know him by different names.

I love the idea of Heritage Armor, but something that would make them better are Heritage Weapon Sets

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 09:42 AM PST

I love the idea of Heritage Armor, but something that would make them better are Heritage Weapon Sets

Now tell me if you heard this before, you make a Dark Iron Dwarf, level him to 120 and get the armor, you decide to go chill with Moira, then you see it, one of the Dark Iron NPCs has strapped to his back and you realize you need it, you go to your collections, it's nowhere to be seen. You go to wowhead and see the caption in regard to the Dark Iron Weapons,

"There are also several matching weapons, unobtainable to players. "

Blizzard why are you making weapons for NPCs that we can't have?

Why did you essentially make the Spellbreaker Unit Armor from Warcraft 3 as the Blood Elf Heritage armor but not make the iconic Spellbreaker Tower Shield?

I love the Idea of Heritage Armors, I really do, but if you could make matching Weapon Sets for those armors, that would be amazing.

The biggest annoyance is not that you haven't made them, the annoyance is that you have and I can't use them.

WHY CAN\"T I USE THIS BEAUTIFUL AXE??????

    Demonology appreciation post

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 08:37 PM PST

Back when I started playing wow on cata I loved demonology, loved the small things about it and when we got additional skills in pandaria I found it fascinating, altho a small part of me always wished we could have more, delve deeper into the demon skills. I left the game in MOP and since I returned in BFA I LOVE what they have done with demonology. Im more of a casual player so I cant really speak for end game damage, but having 10 different demons summoned at a time, commanding a legion with a portal sprouting even more, its all I could've dreamed of with this spec, I really really hope it never changes. Just wanted to share my excitement :)

    From game to real life

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 12:16 AM PST

During the lich King I met a couple in game. They where playing wow in the same guild as me. Fast forward to today: we have been best friends, no. We have been family for the past 10 years now. I see them each weekend and we speak on a daily basis. And we still play wow from time to time. I can't believe that this happened from playing world of Warcraft. I just wanted to share this with you guys. That is all.

P.S. you got some similar stories?

Is anyone else really hopeful that Shadowlands will bring the next golden age of WoW to us?

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 11:44 AM PST

I'm trying not to be hyperbolic, and I know it's a ways out. But Blizzcon this year has me really hopeful and I'm sorry if this comes off as too "extra" or speculative. This is where I'm at:

    Current stuff

    • Party Sync proving out they can do item/level squishes, even if that system still needs a bit of work
    • Known level squish such that 1-10 is start zone, 11-50 is one full expansion/story, and 51-60 is Shadowlands
    • Class fantasy back at the forefront of their minds
    • Heard a lot of the complaints about RNG in the current M+/PvP paradigm

To me, these are a ton of right things to say. My concern is Blizzard seems to almost always say the right things. Pre-BFA I thought this expansion was going to be amazing wpvp and have the "Warfront" mode which will be a make-shift WC3. I'm not sure if that's my own delusions, but obviously that didn't quite work out.

    Speculation

    • They have the opportunity to solve WoW in a way that hasn't happened before. Every new expansion becomes the 51-60 content, everyone gets squished to Lv50, and every past expansion is its own 11-50 content.

    • If that happens, given that we can exist in perpetuity at 60, they can now balance all raids from all of time to be content available for Lv60s. If they introduce a currency or token system, it could easily allow a much more versatile end game. Even if historical raids lack a premier "Mythic" difficulty to them, it would be a blast to experience their actual mechanics with a guild again. Ala timewalking, but as a first class citizen.

    • Currencies in general. It's been an idea floated around here for awhile, but the idea of Warforge/Titanforging your gear with a currency has been talked about to death on this sub. It would be insane in my mind for them not to listen to this.

To me, they just have such an opportunity with 9.0 to set some new norms. I personally loved Benthic gear. What I didn't like? Being beholden to random daily WQs. The fact the it's 8.2 specific and not a first class system of the game. I'm so tired of one-expansion-throw-away mechanics (or worse, one PATCH throw away mechanics).

9.0 to me is an opportunity to turn a sharp corner and level set what WoW will look like for a long time to come, and it could be pretty bad ass if they do it right.

Blizzard's solution on fixing the faction imbalance in Korrak’s Revenge

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 03:49 PM PST

Warmode should have its bonuses overhauled and refocused; PvP over WQ bonuses.

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 06:42 AM PST

To preface, I am not a PvPer. I do not personally enjoy PvP in this game, and while I have pushed some arenas in my day, I have concluded that it's not my thing in the end.

When I do my daily round of WQs, I always use warmode. This is not because I have any interest in WPvP, but rather because the warmode bonus of 25% to all WQ rewards (EU-Alliance) is absurdly big and more than compensates for the annoyance of running into the occasional ganksquad.

And I think this is deeply flawed. While, sure, I benefit from a bonus that is bigger than its attached extra effort, I would rather that warmode just stick to giving benefits to people who want to do WPvP - give them loads of honor, conquest, a chance at gear, WPvP specific vanity rewards, whatever - and then let normalmode be normalmode.

As it is, warmode's benefits just encourage me to always use it while at the same time avoiding all PvP conflict I possibly can in order to not waste my time. This feels really backwards. If all warmode does is push people who have no interest in PvP to use it just for the benefits, then what is even the point? They won't like PvP more just because they have to expose themselves to it.

If I could not use warmode on all my characters without falling 25% behind on gold rewards, AP and so on, I would in a heartbeat.

Horde player spotted in the wild

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 08:12 AM PST

As I'm running around trying to get as many fishing achievements as I can, it just dawned on me what makes WoW so special.

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 12:00 PM PST

I haven't been to Outlands, Northrend, Cata zones, Pandaria or Draenor in forever, but going back through them to get the various fishing achievements has made me realize that WoW is so special because of how alive everything is.

It seems to be the only living game where I can go back and visit a virtual location that was so central to my life 10 years ago. When I went back to Outlands, I was immediately reminded of the many mornings as a kid trudging through Zangarmarsh or Blade's Edge. Same thing happened when I went back to Twilight Highlands. I'm simultaneously playing a new game, and a game I played as a child.

It's crazy how much of a nostalgia trip this fishing journey has given me. It's like visiting breathing memories, and it's weird to think that these places I spent so much time in as a kid are still here in the game, but I haven't seen them for years.

    Shadowlands PVP

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 06:53 PM PST

So, there hasn't been much talk about pvp, the only thing i've been able to find are two questions which were 'Are there going to be pvp vendors' and 'Will the covenants fight each other like horde and alliance' answer to both questions was nothing is changing, move along.

I mean do they seriously think nothing is wrong with how pvp gearing works? The fact that you can just hit mythic + and be set for pvp gear by doing pve content is so boring. Can't we have pvp gear back like it was in Panda? Grindable points with weekly caps to fill out your pvp gear progression. What about resilience? What was so evil about that stat, it meant that i spent some of my allocation to be viable in pvp but subpar in pve but now instead i'm expected get mythic + gear to pvp? Am i the only one who thinks pvp gearing is absolutely busted? versatility is a garbage stat i just wish they would shove the way of expertise/hit.

When you started to get resilience on gear you could feel your character start to get stronger in pvp. I really did so much for making you feel like you're getting better and stronger every week. Now it's just an RNG crap fest with terrible stats like versatility being on almost every piece of pvp gear. Vers pales as a replacement for resilience and i wish we could have something that was alot better like we had in panda.
