    Good Morning r/wow! Welcome to the World First Race Megathread for Ny'alotha, The Waking City.

    Threads related to the race will not consolidated into this one. Comments are sorted here by new to foster up to date discussion. Once Kungen has yet again kill stolen the final boss of a raid, probably in some spectacular and "we totally didn't see that coming!" manner, we'll leave this thread up for an hour or two before locking it. Discussion may continue in user generated threads as once the race is over this thread loses its purpose.

    We ask that you remain civil and follow our subreddit rules. Cheer for the guild you most want to win but don't resort to attacking people who cheer for another guild.

    For some reason Blizzard has done virtually no marketing for their new product, but in case anyone was curious, Warcraft III: Reforged will be released at 3pm PST today.

    You can buy and download the game through the Blizzard launcher. /r/wc3 is a good community for the ladder/melee game, whereas /r/warcraft3 focuses more on custom games.

    Blizzard, if the Horrific Visions are what we should expect from the Torghast, then you better to take care of tanks, healers and certain DD specs.

    Horrific Visions (and Corruptions) have a few mechanics that favors Damage Dealers (especially certain on demand instant AOE burst ones) over healers and tanks.

    1) Its a DPS check content. Your DPS matters the most and survivability is secondary priority while also important, but DPS compensates it. Tanks and healers are way behind in terms of it and its pretty hard to solo the content that was by its nature designed for DPS.

    1.1) Corruption system is another problem - its also mainly DPS buffs, and while it helps tanks in some way, its not even near as good for them as for damage dealers, and certainly not that helpful for healers.

    2) Intensive pushbacks, stuns and knockbacks are also punishes all specs with cast abilities. While mobile specs can avoid it, its very frustrating and not fun for the rest of specs.

    And its not about "get gud". Its about the fact that those mechanics means almost nothing for certain specs, and heavily damages the gameplay of others. At last, its not fun to not be able to deal the damage, when you get stunned or thrown in the air every 4-5 seconds.

    Here comes people's advices - Dont do it solo. Get the party!

    3) Vessels mechanics. To get into the Vision, ALL party members must sacrifice their vessels. That means 2-3-4-5 vessels loss in case of failure.

    4) Difficulty scaling. Mobs' scaling goes up to 120% for 2-man party, and even higher for 3-4-5 man parties.

    That means that solo gameplay for certain specs are more preferable. At last, even if the people would like to do party-Vision, they most likely would like to get another solid damage dealer, rather than tank or healer, or heavy caster. Right now its clearly not profitable or effective to do Visions with 1 DPS + 1 Healer parties.

    Point 3 and 4 means, there is relatively low chances for a healer or tank to get into party, especially for a healer.

    Maybe it will be changed on higher difficulties, but(!) to get there healer must have already been equipped with solid iLvL cloak. Which brings us back to how to do it solo?

    Here comes people's advices - Respec into DPS spec.

    No.

    5) At this stage of WoW most specs have very different sets of traits, essences and stats.Asking to respec is essentially the same as asking to farm second set of azerite gear, some more essences and bis stats items.

    I can't call it the good design if to make MAIN (solo too!) content doable you force players to respec and farm twice as much as effective DD specs.

    God forbid Blizzard force players to do the same with Torghast.

    TL;DR

    Horrific Visions aren't suitable for solo healers or solo tanks or solo heavy-caster DD specs. Most people won't want them in their parties until highest difficulties where there will be not so much suitable tanks/healers. DPS checks only type of content favors certain DPS specs only and damages the rest of them and its NOT a well designed main content.

    Thinking of Toughast gameplay, Blizzard better either think of Mage Tower type of content that makes all roles equal, or not bring failure mechanics from Horrific Visions (i.e. remove Vessels requirements and tweak the scaling).

    My Priest has received two drops out of 3 dungeons last night. Both of them were cloaks. I went on my main today, first dungeon, first drop, first cloak. It is impossible, at least to my knowledge, to get a cloak that's better than the legendary one, especially during Heroic Week, so why are they still there? I understand leaving them in for Normal and Heroic dungeons, but for the love of god, remove them from M/M+ . I've heard they removed them from the chest though, that is good, you were almost done.

    Imagine current Legion content at that time dropping weapons, or Nyalotha dropping 460 / 475 capes; that's pretty much how I see this.

    Sorry if this was posted before, but I am pretty annoyed that there is a possibility to get a drop that will never be an upgrade, as long as you have the legendary one. (and that i keep getting cloaks, of course.)

    EDIT: These lovely cloak drops from M+ have now been REMOVED from the game, thank the heavens. As a side note I had no clue this was adressed by Blizzard in any shape or form as I do not follow that closely, and also congratulations to people that have received some amazing corruption effects in their M+ cloak thus far. I work in QA and honestly this felt rushed, clearly something that wouldn't pass from my PoV, but it has finally been adressed. Good luck and enjoy the game, everyone.

    Dunegorger Karulok (Vol'Dun WB) is up this week. They added an Aplaca mount to the loot table in 8.3 and it won't be up for another 6 weeks.

    If you care about collecting mounts make sure you get kills in on any 120s you have because you won't have many chances. Fortunately the drop rate is somewhat reasonable (~1-2%) so if you're worried about this being like Sha of Anger but 6x worse it's not that bad.

    Can we have flying while dead in old zones, after we have unlocked it?

    I am leveling my druid at the moment, and when i die i have to run to my corpse. This is still the case in pandaria, and it just feels stupid as i unlocked full flying over 20 levels ago.

    You can fly when dead in newer zones, so can we please apply it to older zones?
