Here’s the Doomhammer I built using EVA Foam!

Oh hey, didn't see you there. It's me, Anduin Lothar, greatest leader in Alliance history, namesake of the current Stormwind king even! Just saying that my death was a key plot point in early Warcraft lore, but you won't see me in Shadowlands because Bliz probably forgot about me long ago.

The concept of specializing your character for a type of content is far more palatable in a world where Blizzard isn't heavily nudging people to do all types of content on a single character.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:13 AM PDT

A recurring argument in favor of covenant locking is that it allows you to select the thing you really want to do (raids, m+, or pvp) and make your character a specialist at that type of content. That's actually kind of a neat idea, but it has one enormous flaw. Blizzard has continued to promote immense incentives for players to do all types of content on a single character, and at the highest-level possible.

Let's look at some recent examples for context, especially since they're likely to remain the case in SL. Let's say I'm a rogue (I am) and I want to specialize in mythic raiding, so I take the mythic raiding covenant. Sounds good, right? There's immediately a huge problem that stands out. At least 5 of my best items come from the mythic+ cache (lustrous plumage, mechagon rings, a cache'd belt, and a cache'd legs). This immediately makes it so that if I want to truly specialize and optimize myself for raiding, I'm already being nudged towards doing a healthy chunk of M+. In SL, this means doing as many as possible to get the most chances to get the items I need from my cache. In just this very simple example, I've already been pushed to do the content I'm not specializing for, and will be inarguably suboptimal in.

What if I'm a mage? I need my mechagon bracers, a waycrest offhand, and a glad badge that's as high-ranking as possible. So I'm now meant to play a highly competitive mode, where my covenant choice will have a direct impact on my ability to climb to the necessary rating, so that I can do the content I'm selecting for?

The cases for and against locking on the merits of doing multiple types of content based on desire and on offspecs have already been hashed out plenty of times here, but this is an additional wrinkle that's highly concerning. Even if I wanted to dedicate myself towards a particular content type, I'm now gimped to the point where it may be exceptionally difficult to do that content, just so I can get back to the content I'm specializing for.

Guild Housing could help progression and casual guilds

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:26 PM PDT

Guild Housing would be a fun and easy way to bring players together and help them focus on a goal that isn't just raid progression or having a place with enough bodies to do party content.

The weekly guild rewards could have straightforward bonuses like giving a bonus guild cauldron in an alchemy shop. What about feasts? Armor repairs? There could be a place for choosing which professions to focus on as a guild. Choice is key.

If the guild mine & farm were attached to your guild getting weekly awards. This would also counter 1 person guilds and farm guilds which might strain the economy since they'd still have to do content and the rewards could be locked to guildies so at least SOMEONE in guild would have to be there to benefit. It would also put less pressure on people to farm specifically for that in a way that might be tedious.

It would also allow for customization and things to do outside of the major content. Who wouldn't love guild achievement displays? Statues and music? Guild flag flying from the walls. Guilds meaning something more!

WoD's garrisons were so close to something amazing and I think this is the missing link. What do you think?

Can we just combine all the old mission table "supplies" types for sake of sanity?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:18 PM PDT

I really don't want to do world quests for old supplies just to run missions on my old mission tables, could it be possible to condense the various supply crate types to work together in a unified way, I'm speakking about Garrison supplies, Order hall supplies, and now the BFA warfront supplies. Thematically they're all the same idea.

Additionally maybe combining the three in a single UI, maybe just with some tabs and stuff would be great. So that i can quickly hearth to my garrison and set off all my missions and then go about my business instead of Garrison, then to dalaran to get to my order hall, then out to the docks of zuldazar or whatever to do those, I'm not particularly asking for any massive expansion of these features just would love to see them take up less of my daily time as someone who came back recently

The Zandalari Soldiers that need to be healed in one of the last quests in Nazmir still use the placeholder model of a normal troll with Zandalari skin tone. They are also part of the Vanilla "Zandalar Tribe" faction.
