/r/WoW Has Resumed Normal Moderation + State of the Game posts returning

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 04:03 PM PST

    Hello r/wow!

Just as a quick followup to our previous post that said we would have relaxed moderation from the 20th-29th, /r/WoW has now resumed normal moderation. (Well, as normal as it can be.)

Common questions, low effort content, and repetitive or non-WoW related memes will now be removed once again.

Thanks for the laughs and for being super chill while the mod team got up to 60 and all the new and returning players got up to speed or started their new adventures in the Shadowlands.

State of the Game posts will return on Monday November 30th and continue each Monday until December 28th.

These are semi-structured posts that allow you to discuss the different aspects of the game as they change over the course of a patch, in this case 9.0.2. Given this is the launch of an expansion, there will be many mod created top level comments as jumping off points for discussion, though you're free to create your own.

We know these threads were popular in the past as some people had complaints but didn't feel like making their own post or shoehorning their issue into someone else's. Once these threads are discontinued until the next major patch, you may find some enjoyment in participating in MELTDOWN MONDAY.

This is not a Megathread and posts will not be redirected to it.

Murloc Monday - ask your questions here

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 11:00 PM PST

    *Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!*

That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.

Questions can range from what's new in Shadowlands, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?

Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% [of questions get answered!](https://redd.it/djsvm8)

You may want to look at /r/wownoob (Retail), or /r/AzerothNoob (Classic) as well!

[UPDATE] Among the amazingly positive response from my original post, someone messaged me a raptor plushie from the Blizz Store and I reached out to the father again in order to make sure his little girl gets her raptor for Christmas :)

    Kicking new players from dungeons

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:21 AM PST

I had to vote four no four times within one dungeon this morning.
The reason? We had a level 53 demon hunter that was lacking a little on the damage and some of the tactics. Things went smootly, but he was just doing a bit bad damage and seemed a bit confused on the tactics some few times. Not a single wipe.

The guy who initiated the kick said he did not have time for some low dps in the group, that was the reason he wanted to kick him.

I took a quick look at his achivement points, 550 in total. He started playing World of Warcraft last week.

I told the group that this player seemed new to the game and it would be worng to kick him for doing a little bad damage. They did not care at all. Two more votes came after that.

There is new players coming to World of Warcraft, they might be younger then the game itself. This is a massive game. Give out some tips, ask if there is something they wonder about. Help them a little instead of kicking them out of the group for trying to learn the game.

There is always a chained Stolen Shadehound you can mount for in the maw a minute when you leave the safe-zone and turn left. Can mount up even on combat so you can ignore the mobs.

Necrotic wake is the worst dungeon to pug heal

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:31 AM PST

It is. Any healer who has been in a group for necrotic wake knows that it's almost impossible. No one interrupts. No one gets out of the bad. Most people can't get surgeon stitch flesh down. Like I'm sorry, but no one and I mean NO ONE can heal through 5 health bars of healing shields that also apply a dot because you guys are too lazy to go get the two sorcerers spamming necrotic bolt in the background. I have been kicked from two groups for people not being able to interrupt. My brother, who has parred a 99 on mythic raids, has been kicked from groups for being unable to heal through the mechanics that can, and need, to be interrupted. The few dungeons we haven't been kicked from have had people getting consistently feared into other packs, wiping the whole group. That spell can be interrupted. It's mechanics 101 and no one wants to learn. To that one group that I got that interrupted. I love you guys.
