Posted: 17 Dec 2020 03:02 PM PST We've brought up our concerns with scaling issues with old raid content since pre-patch. Initially, we were told it would get better when we hit level cap, but it didn't. It actually got worse for certain raids where a level 50 character can do more damage than a 60. I hope Blizzard can take as quick of action on this scaling issue as they did with Torghast's recent difficulty issues. Running old raids is fun for solo purposes and some of best transmog is from Legion. [link] [comments] | ||

You showed me Posted: 17 Dec 2020 03:29 AM PST Over the past 2 days I have spent about 5 hours doing solo torghast and have literally nothing to show for it. Cleared level 6 solo last week so I started at the new floor 7: got wrecked on the second floor. Go down to floor 6, get to the 5th floor boss who 2 shots me... ok down to 5, get to the final slime boss who I can get to about 30% before he and his minions instakill me... down to 4, get to the boss, who I get down to about 5% before he melees me for 10k on 3 consecutive hits. Way to go blizz, I can now go shovel the 2 feet of snow outside hating myself for wasting what little time I have after work to accomplish literally nothing but spend thousands in repairs. This is without mentioning how stupid the assassins spawning every time you just finished killing the previous assassin who took all your cooldowns, the physical damage debuff allowing regular mobs to wreck your day forcing you to go slow and heal all the time, runs lasting 1.5-2 hours each with shitty powers for most classes that seem to do little to nothing (oh boy, I can now roll 7 times before the boss teleports or casts at me completely disregarding the power I have that says they can't target me from outside it). This is a fucking joke how a system that could be so fun has be reduced to a rage inducing waste of time. Lower the damn damage so that non-tanks and non-pet classes can participate and either reduce the floors or let us pull more without getting instant killed so runs don't take 2 hours before giving us the middle finger as the boss is unkillable. I've upgraded my Anima Conductor this week and it offered me two new points, one with a world quest and a point with daily quests. It should be similar for all covenants. [link] [comments] | ||

Torghast: Just finished Layer 8 of both wings solo Posted: 17 Dec 2020 07:26 AM PST Proof Afterthoughts: With the recent nerf to tanks tanking extra damage, the stacking torment of bonus damage to mobs in the Upper Reaches, this was a pure shitshow. I had to take every single power that I could that would keep damage high and constant. Mobs being able to pacify in upper reaches was infuriating. The stacking power buff plus the torment had the floor bosses whacking me for 20k+ damage per hit. It took me about 5 hours of attempts on upper reaches just to get proper anima powers so that I could even kill bosses. If you aren't ending floor encounters in ~30s for regular elites on each floor, you aren't going to be able to kill the floor bosses. Not to mention initial powers are set, and if they are trash, you're SoL. The sad thing is, the end bosses weren't even the problem. It was the caster floor bosses and the archers. I was able to one shot Fractured Chambers with some extremely lucky RNG. My DPS spec never made it past the 1st floor of layer 7/8, it just wasn't happening due to pure lack of anima powers. Many classes/specs WILL NOT be able to solo this, even with gear, because the mobs are scaling. Blizzard fucked this up, bad, and I'm saying that even though I finished it. They should have brought the difficulty for dps in line with tanks and healers, not the other way around. Before the hotfixes, making different builds was hilarious and fun. Now, if you don't pick exactly the right talents, you will not make it past the floor bosses. There is a complete lack of respect for people's time when a single run can last well over an hour, and you reach a mathematically impossible floor boss or end boss. This shit needs to be fixed. Edit: From polygon - "This is a top priority for us right now, and we have a bunch of changes in the works, all of which are aimed at easing the experience of Torghast," says Ion Hazzikostas, game director on World of Warcraft, in a call with Polygon. "Players will be seeing those changes in the next couple of days." Edit 2: Blizzard has a few primary goals with Torghast at the moment. One: bring down the average length of a Torghast run so it's not an hour-long grind. Two: increase the success rate for a handful of classes and specializations that are struggling. Three: Make sure that the powers players can pick up are fun and diverse things that could only work in Torghast, not just a stronger version of a player's usual rotation. Four: make it clear just how hard each layer is supposed to be, and when a player should tackle it.
