    Good Morning r/wow! and welcome to the World First Race Megathread for Castle Nathria.

    Threads related to the race will not consolidated into this one. Comments are sorted here by new to foster up to date discussion. Once Sire Denathrius summons his secret weapon: Anima Woox, all hope will be lost until Anima Kungen kicks his ass back to the Inferno. After the race is over this thread will be locked and discussion may continue in user generated threads.

    We ask that you remain civil and follow our subreddit rules. Cheer for the guild you most want to win but don't resort to attacking people who cheer for another guild.

    To me, this is the greatest start to an expansion. The leveling experience was a great introduction to the shadowlands storyline, and a huge step up over BFA zones. Pvp is the funnest since MoP, and Castle Nathria has been amazing (admittedly a bit overtuned in normal at launch, but it's fine now). Mythic+ feels great as I like all the dungeons (except Necrotic Wake, fuck that place), with the only complaint being that they should make anima scale off of mythic tier (something like 150 anima for +10). Overall, the gear is amazing and feels rewarding to grind for. From the mount farming I've done, it feels more varied and a huge step up from BFA.

    However, there are two aspects of this expansion which are subpar to me - the Maw and Torghast. I feel like the Maw is only in beta so I can't hate on it too much. Torghast, however, feels like it's going in the wrong direction. During the first week of the expansion, I found it extremely fun to go through the various layers on my enhancement shaman. The anima powers felt varied, it was fast and fun, and the final boss provided a decent challenge. Since then, you have increased and plan to increase the HP of mobs. What once took me roughly 30 action packed minutes (Layer 3), took me 1.5 sluggish, boring hours (Layer 6). Roguelikes are supposed to provide you a format where you can go crazy and give classes crazy, wacky abilities, instead Blizzard seems fixed on making the experience more grueling and boring. Blizzard isn't even making Torghast more difficult, they are simply making it take longer. Here are three things you can do to fix Torghast:

    1) Give mobs and bosses more mechanics: Its obvious recent changes have been focused on making the experience more difficult. However, more hp doesn't do that, it just makes it into a DPS check. What would you rather face, a stat check fight like Patchwerk, or something with more mechanics (like the majority of Castle Nathria bosses)? Mechanics create faster paced and action-packed gameplay, more HP does the opposite.

    2) Make wacky powers: Torgast isnt permanent. Any abilities you gain will disappear after the run ends. So why are the anima powers so boring; most provide damage increases or cooldown reduction. For shaman, give me something crazy that summons a gigantic thundercloud over their head and does ridiculous damage. The greatest roguelikes, like Binding of Issac, give insane powers the more you play. In this mode fun > balance.

    3) Give us more than soul ash: To keep people coming back to Torghast, give us mounts, transmits, and other cosmetics. We don't need gear, but we need something more than soul ash.

    Tl;dr: Blizzard needs to make Torghast more exciting and action packed, hp increases to mobs is not the answer. Give us more mechanics, more anima powers, more cosmetics.

    This should be the fun " cool down" part of WoW. I love being able to AFK in Torg, while still being on. Sometimes I have stuff to do IRL and can only play in increments, and Torg is perfect for that. Please don't ruin it by over buffing. This is your only chance to make this solo rogue like dungeon. Don't make it a chore like you already are.

    It was an incredible first 2 weeks, torghast was actually fun. Now, this is patch is what you call super fun! The difficulty by just making bosses have significantly higher hp was the best thing you all could have done!! /s

    Honestly it feels like the dev team doesnt even play their own game.

    It's really disappointing the "Covenant Hearthstone" is just a skin and not a separate hearth.

    I'm traveling between Oribos and my Covenant all the time. I have only one hearthstone to commit. It's my fault for not reading carefully, but I figured the quartermaster would offer a hearthstone back to the covenant instead of a silly skin. Felt like a waste of anima.

    When you gain a new Companion, it should start at the level of your troops (Median of current followers) not at level 1

    This also prevents your troops from de-levelling from you gaining what SHOULD be a benefitial upgrade in a new companion, preventing the weird downgrade scenario.

    From the increased enemy health and damage to the nerfed abilities. Torghast has been fun, easy sure but it's time consuming, last thing enemies needed was more health to make it take even longer.

    Blizzard the entire point of torghast is to have overpowered fun. Why are you not introducing systems or ideas that are just fun. The fact that classes are being nerfed when it affects ZERO people is asinine. I don't play a healer or a tank in torghast but if they are having an easier time climbing why nerf them instead of buffing the classes that are struggling. I'm having crazy fun with this expansion but can already tell you're abandoning one of the core features that should have been one of the most successful. Unless you're doing an infinite climb this is one of the few features in wow that you don't have to compete with others. No one cares how fast you clear torghast or if you cleared the top level.... its just to get soul ash. Why not just make it fun and broken. As software dev's this is your opportunity to experiment with zero backlash about class balance.

    End bosses in Torghast layer are stupidly over tuned.

    I'm doing 20K DPS. Tank is doing around 10K DPS. Healer doing around 7K DPS.

    Boss has TWO stacking damage buff. (The zombie looking boss that drops purple shit on the floor)

    We get the boss to 30% health, both of the bosses damage buffs are 99% and the other one is something like 60% increased damage for a total of 159% increased damage by the time we get him to 30%. The boss just one shots the tank, then moves so fast that it is impossible to kite the boss around and he just one shots me and the healer.

    Torghast is turning into my least favorite thing in Shadowlands. I love wasting an hour of my time only to get to the last floor and get smacked in the face with a boss that is literally impossible to kill in time before he starts one hitting people.

    Get rid of the dumb stacking damage buff. Or if you don't want to get rid of it, don't give TWO fucking stacking damage buffs to the boss.

    Can we please have Rated Battleground SoloQ?

    Just wish I could play around in "random" BGs with people that are of similar skill level, instead of a random mix of pros and noobs. I have a hard time seeing how this could have any negative consequences and would help fill a gap in PvP between arenas and straight up RBGs which can take ages to put together these days.

    Title pretty much says it. Gems, enchants, flasks etc. As a veteran of the game, I still don't know if I'm buying the best available gems half the time. A symbol or an asterisk would make it much easier IMO.

    Not saying it should give more soul ash or drop items, no. Add some old good looking item recolors like you did for Armageddon. To me WoD CM recolors would be great and I'd do Torghast 20hr a day for it. It probably will get tuned because it looks impossible for some classes right now but throw some stuff in it. So I can try over and over for hours without feeling empty and at least aim something.

    Here's a suggestion. Instead of having 150 different toys with different hearthstone animations (all sharing cooldown), can we instead just have a menu to select an animation to "bind" to our hearthstone, aka transmog?

    Seriously, there's SO MANY hearthstone toys now, can we just create an apperance menu that we could use to "apply" it to our hearthstones (hs, dalaran hs, garrison hs, shaman recall, etc)? Instead of having 50 different toys in a long toy list?
