    A Kid's joy

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 01:20 AM PST

Greeting all, just to share something.

My son is obsessed with Illidan.
He literally adores everything about him, and of course this mean cosplay.

I am unfortunately a very poor man and can't afford the nice toys out there, but good ol' carton, duct tape and spray, can always give joy to a kid.

    I proudly-ish present:

Corruptions are just legendaries again, all mistakes included

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:30 AM PST

It blows my mind how blizzard constantly repeats mistakes they make. Especially after speaking about it openly (like at blizzcon) about how that didn't work out so well.

The latest example of this is corruptions. The good corruption effects are just as good as the best legendaries were. They said throughput competing against utility wasn't the greatest idea, they acknowledged the rng drop rate of these was not a great idea.

    So what do corruptions do?

    • They have 100% rng.
    • They have worthless utility effects competing against massive dps increases.

IT IS THE SAME DAMN MISTAKE. LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME. As what they did with legendaries. Not sure how we are ever supposed to think things will improve when they do nothing but repeat past mistakes, constantly.

When Shadowlands drops, Warlords of Draenor might be the most popular expansion to level to 50 in.

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:58 PM PST

I've been talking to a buddy about it and besides Legion, no other expansion offers so much quality of life. It isn't a popular expansion, but that was never due to the quests and zones, but rather cut content.

    Pros:

Each zone gives you an ability to enhance your leveling potency.

    • Shadowmoon Valley / Frostfire Ridge: Garrison troops.

    • Gorgrond: Pilot a Shredder or have an Arena fighter come fight.

    • Talador: Guardian Orb for AoE damage or Artillery Strike for AoE erasing.

    • Spires of Arak: Smuggling Run for consumable buffs or Brewery for 20% bonus xp.

    • Nagrand: Pilot a tank or have permanent mounted speed.

Having a Barracks lets you bring a Bodyguard along everywhere you go.

Each zone has two bonus objectives that give huge chunks of experience. If kept to a proportional amount, these single objectives might be an entire level of xp.

Treasures chests that give xp for picking them up.

Treasure Chest locations in Horrific Visions

Treasure Chest locations in Horrific Visions

I couldn't find any resources / guides / addons for the chests, so I did some research myself. Here's what I found:

There are always 2 chests present per area. The locations of these 2 chests are randomly chosen from a few possible spawn locations (see maps). Exceptions are the starting zones (Cathedral / Grommash Hold) where I was sometimes able to find 3.

Chests in the starting zone contain ~30 Mementos, the ones in small (corrupted) areas ~50, big (lost) areas ~150. Seems to be increased a bit with 1 mask, maybe 10% more?

Overall, you can find 10-11 chests per run for a total of almost 900 Mementos.

All chests are pretty much out in the open, with 3 exceptions:

    • SW, Old Town: The northernmost chest is in a building, next to a group of mobs and a rare. Nothing too scary, but it'll take slightly longer to get this one
    • OG, The Drag: There's 2 possible chests inside of buildings, it's the 2 buildings that you open 2nd and 3rd: the Orphanage and the Cloth Goods (the one that spawns a mob). Both chests are visible from the outside if they're present.

Here are the waypoints for the chests, just use them in the preparation phase or at the end, when collecting your rewards. TomTom doesn't show waypoints on the minimap in these visions for some reasons, but you can see them on the world map.

I'm fairly certain I've found >95% of all possible locations, but let me know if you know of any additional ones or if I'm wrong about or missed something. (Quick mention, obviously you need to complete tier 3 of MOTHER's Research to see these chests, rank 1/2/3 to see chests in starting / small / big zones respectively.)

These 8.2 and 8.3 rares that drop mounts are so annoying and i think the design is bad.

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 04:16 PM PST

8.2 introduced Rustfeather, Arachnoid Harvester and Soundless which all came with a pretty long spawntimer and a relatively small chance to drop a mount.

I enjoy collecting mount so i immediately made sure that i killed all three everyday in hope for the mounts to drop.

Since 8.2 dropped i have pretty much killed them daily (obviously missed a few days here and there). Hours after hours of waiting in Mechagon and Nazjatar for them to spawn. Despite that i only have the mount from Rustfeather. But i guess thats fair, some mounts are supposed to be rare.

When 8.3 dropped and i realized that Blizzard added 6(!?) more mounts with a low dropchance from mobs that takes up to an hour to respawn in Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Uldum i just gave up. I am not sure about the droprates, but i have killed a few of them in big groups and are yet to see a single drop. So i assume its the same as the Nazjatar and Mechagon mounts.

    Please Blizzard either:

    1. Make them true "raremobs" with a spawntimer of like 6-12 hours and with a 100% droprate of the mounts.
    2. Make them like the Darkshore/Arathi rares with a fast respawn and higher droprate but you can only loot them once per assault cycle.
    3. Keep the current system but please up the respawn rate to like 5-10 mins instead of an hour.

How do you guys feel about the new "rare" mount drops. Do you enjoy it?
