Follower missions in Legion shows that blizzard learned from the mistakes of BFA followers

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:01 AM PST

In BFA, we had to deal with our recruited troops being random out of a group of 3, so it had some really annoying RNG where you needed a specific troop to counter a mission but you couldnt order that kind of troop for some reason, so you had to suicide your troops and spend another 30 minutes waiting before you had your 33% chance at the recruit you wanted

But in Legion though, all troops are now universal! You just build the troop and it adds 30% to your missions! simple, effective, and free of RNG!

In BFA, we had to wait until patch 8.2 to have a follower come out into the world with us, and it was mostly timegated and you couldnt give your follower any kind of equipment, and you could only have them in nazjatar

But now, in Legion, you can get your follower immediately, give them equipment to give you more rewards, and also level them with any world quest rather then spending 30 days waiting to max them out!

For my last point, im really happy those annoying missions affixs like "stealth" and "long campaign" are gone. All they really did was serve to annoy the player with no extra rewards for the hurdle of mission management or the 3 day wait time.

The only thing i dont like about legion missions is how they are required to progress the main quest and your 3rd relic. it adds a lot of time gating. Hopefully that will be removed next expansion

Fun Fact: Online interest in WoW is bigger than most of the remaining popular MMOs, combined.

Fun Fact: Online interest in WoW is bigger than most of the remaining popular MMOs, combined.

Taking a look at the trends, as analysed by Google Trends, it is quite astonishing to see the popularity that WoW enjoys up to this day.

    Worldwide comparison:

    https://preview.redd.it/5b6g7tt9bg841.png?width=2284&format=png&auto=webp&s=3e35400c33176f655685edbb36c4e1907a5b49f3

    United States Comparison:

And here is the comparison by country. Funnily enough, only Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia express a greater interest in another MMO (in this case, Final Fantasy XIV) than WoW. Additionally, Uganda has more of an interest in Elder Scrolls than WoW - this is super intriguing and I wonder why. Maybe some Ugandan peeps could chime in? :)

What do you guys think about this? Besides Uganda, these numbers actually match my expectations. Worldwide WoW is by far the most popular MMO, but curiously enough in the US , early 2019 ESO was a close contender - but in the end, WoW maintained the lead for most of the time.

    Korrak's Revenge Win Rates

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 03:37 PM PST

    Korrak's Revenge Win Rates

So a couple weeks into Korrak's Revenge, I started leveling alts for some gold making and farming purposes.

There was lots of talk earlier on in the event about win rates, so I thought I'd share my results.

I couldn't confirm the win ratio for 2 toons based on the number of AV games they had played throughout their lifespan.

Characters started doing Korrak's Revenge at different level points, not necessarily the starting level (this is just the level at the start of the event, not the level doing Korrak's)

Top win rate is Horde, bottom is Alliance.

Transitioning from a melee player to a ranged player

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 01:14 AM PST

I've recently been trying to join a mythic guild to advance my knowledge and experience of the game and in my attempts of finding a new home, I noticed that ranged are generally more needed in a raiding environment and decided to level a warlock to give it a shot. I found a guild willing to help me gear and in need of a warlock but during our first raiding sessions, I realized that there is actually a big difference. It feels alot easier to dps as a melee player compared to a ranged player. I was wondering if there was any advice a player who play both sides of the dps spectrum could give to someone trying to play ranged.

    Thanks in advance,

    Fhroost :)
